Dr. Heather Scheuring, L.Ac, DACM
Hi, I'm Heather, a state-licensed acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner based in Marin County, California, with clinic locations near downtown San Rafael and in Berkeley. I specialize in women’s health acupuncture and integrative Chinese medicine, supporting patients across the Bay Area. I earned my Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with a focus on women’s health and integrative medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco.
A Holistic Approach to Women’s Health and Chinese Medicine
My work is grounded in the classical principles of Chinese medicine and its deep connection to the rhythms of nature. I was drawn to this medicine for its holistic understanding of health-recognizing the interplay of body, mind, emotions, and spirit, and honoring the uniqueness of each individual. I believe the body functions as a dynamic internal ecosystem, where symptoms are meaningful signals rather than isolated problems. In my practice, I aim to look beyond surface-level symptoms to identify and treat underlying patterns of imbalance, with the goal of supporting long-term healing and resilience. My practice focuses on women’s health and hormonal balance, offering acupuncture and Chinese medicine support throughout all stages of life.
Integrative, Root-cause care
I believe everyone deserves access to supportive, approachable healthcare that is centered on their individual needs. I aim to create a compassionate, grounded space where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their healing process. My treatments integrate acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, nutrition, lifestyle guidance, and movement practices to support whole-body health both in and outside of the treatment room. By addressing root causes rather than just symptoms, patients build sustainable, lasting wellness. My goal is to work collaboratively with each individual to create personalized treatment plans aligned with their unique health goals, empowering them to take an active role in their well-being.
On a Personal Note
When I’m not in clinic, I enjoy hiking, yoga, traveling, thrift and antique shopping, cooking without a recipe and getting lost in a good book. I’m a wife and mom and I love spending time with my family whether it’s going on a new adventure or curling up to watch a movie together. I feel most at peace in nature and I'm constantly seeking out more opportunities to spend time among the trees or by the ocean.
